February...so far

On February 12, the Board of Education called at 6:40 AM to announce schools were closed due to chance of snow later in the day. My driveway looked like this. But, being in Georgia and the chance of snow meant I had to go to the grocery store...me and everyone else!
By noon we started getting some snow flurries. Again, being from Georgia, where we get snow about once every 10 years, I had to take pictures as soon as it began.
By 4:00, we had this and I was worried that D wasn't going to get home from work. He made it home and said the roads weren't that bad. We lost power about 9:30 that night and didn't get it back until 10:30 Saturday morning. Apparently, there was a wreck that knocked down some power lines.
Saturday morning looked like this and most of the snow was gone by late afternoon. But school functions for that day were still canceled.

So, the next Saturday, E had her "Valentine's Dance".
Then on Monday, a big day for E! After having these for 3+ years...

She now has the most gorgeous smile!

This weekend, we have Junior Miss Eagle, so E has been tanning and using white strips and basically getting ready for that. I'll post pictures on Saturday.
February has been a fun month that has flown by! Z started tennis practice after getting his cast off Feb. 3. E started high school open gym and is still going to training with high school. It is a busy life, but I love being a Mom and having kids that are involved in activies!

Long time...

So much has happened...namely Facebook. I have had so much fun connecting with old friends and keeping up with new ones! But, I never meant to be away from my blog so long either.
Ok...since last time, Z got his license in June and a Blazer in July. In September, he ran off the road while it was raining and flipped it, totaled it, and about gave me a heart attack! God is so good though and he walked away with a little scratch on his finger. In November, we bought him a small (cheap) car and he is a much more cautious driver now. School started back with E in 8th grade and Z a junior. E finished football and competition season and now is getting ready for high school. She is training with the high school's competition squad and doing private lessons too.
Watch an EAGLE as she is flying!
C started at Jax State ~ along with all my money! He is loving his law classes though and it will be so worth it in the end! He got laid off from UPS after the first of the year. Jobs are so hard to come by right now too. The phone man is still working close to Atlanta. I have done 2 long term subs this year and I think that is enough. I miss being home and taking care of things around here.

Last week we had snow! The first snow Z and E have ever really seen. It was fun, but cold! Oh, I know snow is cold, but I live in the south and we don't own heavy coats. We also had to share gloves...but we had scarves thanks to a knitting kick I got on a couple of years ago.
We even had enough snow to make a snow baby!
I think that is about it! Hopefully, it won't be another six months before I post again!

My sweet girl!

We have been busy enjoying the last few days of summer. I start back on Wednesday (but will probably go in and work some Monday and Tuesday, without pay...thank you Sonny Perdue). The kids start back on August 3rd.

I wanted to play with the settings on my camera and my sweet girl was more than willing to be my model! These were taken at the river downtown.

Poor baby!

My poor sweet little baby boy had his wisdom teeth taken out yesterday. He actually did really good! As soon as I got him home, I fed him a small amount of pudding, had him drink about half a cup of water and take some Advil. He slept while I changed ice packs every 20 minutes. At 2:00, he woke up and was feeling fine! Ate some jello, pudding, applesauce, chicken and stars soup, baby food sweet potatoes (gross I know, but we added a little butter and brown sugar), and drank several cups of Hawaiian Punch, flat sprite, and water. He fell alseep about 9:30 and I woke him up at 11:30 to give him a percocet and some advil. He slept until 6:30 this morning ~ when he woke me up and asked for more pain meds. I gave him another percocet and 3 advil and he is still sleeping. He has had a much more easier time than C did when he had his out. We may be able to take that weekend trip to the beach next week afterall!

Bahamas '09

Cruising on this to Nassau and Freeport.
Dinner the first night.
The water is so blue!
Formal Night
Bahamas Baby :)
E swimming in Nassau. The water is so clear, you can see down to the bottom no matter how deep you are.
E, D, and me eating dinner.
Going snorkeling in the Coral Reefs off Freeport ~ Daddy with Z and E.
C and H. H sort of got seasick going out to the reefs.
LOVE the water! I took a bunch of pictures with a waterproof camera, but haven't had them developed yet.
C and H with their snorkeling equipment on.
E got tired!
You really haven't lived until you've played Putt Putt on top of a cruise ship!
We thought it was hilarious that there were 'sand bunkers'!

Sweet!

Sometimes they fight like cats and dogs, but at the end of the day, they really love each other! Z was laying on the hammock texting his gf and E went outside to talk to him about something. This is how I found them 30 minutes later.

Graduations

Friday was our last day of school. This little lady had her 7th grade awards that morning. I am so proud of her...she got awards for Honor Roll, Beta Club, Exceeding in Math and Language Arts on the CRCT, and the Presidential Excellence Award. She also got some sort of Champs award and Cheerleading awards.

Then we had H's high school graduation that night. The silver means she is an honor graduate! She spends so much time at our house, I feel like she is one of my own and I am so proud of her!
